While all players have a rank of their own based on XP, which determines their positioning for the Season-End Airdrop, players who have purchased a Brawler Pass have a rank all of their own by means of their Brawler MMR.
What is MMR?
- MMR or “Matchmaking Rank” determines a players’ skill so that they can be matched against players in the fairest way possible.
- It also determines the Leaderboards ranking.
- Brawler MMR is the same, but specifically determines Brawlers’ positioning in the Brawler Leaderboard, which awards players with a USDC Prize based on their rank.
- Unlike XP which increases as you do Battles (though at different rates depending on how often you win), MMR decreases from losses.
- This means that winning more and often is the key to climbing up the Brawler Leaderboard, for which refining a strategy is essential.
Some Things to Consider
- The amount of MMR increase or decrease is calculated based on the difference of MMR between the two players:
- If the difference between the MMR of two players is large, the increase/decrease in MMR will be larger.
- And vice versa, if the difference in the MMR between the two players is small, increase/decrease in the MMR will be lower.
- Our matchmaking formula uses a number of variable to attempt to pair players of different factions and relative ranks to keep things fun and interesting.
- We understand that initially there may be significant swings in players’ MMR as the event attracts new players. After enough time, the ranks distribution should be appropriately stratified for highly competitive vs less competitive players.
- We’ll be monitoring and adjusting MMR parameters as needed during the event to ensure a balanced and engaging competition!
- And last and most important HAVE FUN!
